Hi, Could anyone tell me which one is correct? "he pays 80% or he pay 80%", please also give me explanation why it is.

You will find both forms in different contexts.

1) Since his partner makes much less salary, he pays 80% of the rent and his partner pays 20%.

2) Joe and Don started a business together. Since Joe had much less money than Don, he demanded that Don pay 80%
