Singular / Plural

Hi guys,

Could someone please help me out. I am wondering is a Emotion: music band plural or singular.

I want to say " They are just a band", but is it "It is just a band"?

Is it considered plural? The name of the band is 'field of dreams'.

Thanks in advance.

It depends if you are thinking about the members of the band.

For example, you could also say "The Beatles are the most popular musicians who have ever lived."

Hi,

In my knowledge 'band' is a collective noun in your sentence.....and therefore it is 'singular'.

Thanks.
