Singular or plural for "payment"

(1a) Do you accept cash payment? (uncountable, singular)

(1b) Do you accept cash payments? (countable, plural)

(2a) A cashier is responsible for collecting payment? (uncountable, singular)

(2b) A cashier is responsible for collecting payments? (countable, plural)

I am not sure which form works: singular or plural. Thank you very much.
