Thanks, I know that, but I'd like to ask:

If What + noun + verb

Is the noun singular or plural?

EX: what is correct, (1) or (2) or both?

1.We don't know exactly what month it is.

or 2.We don't know exactly what months they are .

If commenting/asking on the current month, this month:

1. I don't know exactly what month it/this is.
NOT are.

EX: She was with him in the past 3 months but I don't know what months they are. (1)

Is (1) correct? (I like to use what months they are)

Whenever you see s as in monthS, use the plural verb with it.

Sorry, the sentence makes no sense.

EX: She was with him in the past 3 months but I don't know what months they are. (1)

If you know she was with him FOR the last 3 months, and you know we're in October, than you KNOW the 3 months involved: October, September, August.

And in fact, you should write (but still it doesn't make sense to me):

EX: S

For your specific examples, I'd recommend

That'll happen [sometime] in the next few months but I don't know exactly which month it is scheduled for. OR
That'll happen [sometimes] in the next few months but I don't know exactly which month it will start.

(There was nothing wrong with your "That'll happen," especially if it hasn't actually be scheduled.)
