actually i really cannot understand Clive.First and foremost,what you mean when we speak generally?And how can i know when i can add 's' at the back or fowrd.Example,you say 'The service in that restaurant is good'.Why 's' is not added on the back of service.Can you give detail explanation or tell me what type of sentence/topic is that so that i can go and study.Thanks
Look for some grammar discussions about countable and uncountable nouns, and in particular read the part where they discuss nouns that can be both countable or uncountable depending on how you use them.

It means that everybody says 'I am at your service'. Nobody says 'I am at your services'.
