Grammar

Singular and Plural

Hello,

I'd like help with this sentence :-

"examining the content(s) of their mouths"

Should it be content/contents? I understand that a rule in grammar states that you normally use singular terms together and plural terms together, is this(or that?!) correct?

Top answer

Without s will be better: Examining the content of their mouths, Like: Examining the content of their stomachs.
