single sided and one sided
Hi, someone wrote this sentence to me "These are single sided fights as usual"
I told him that its one sided and not single sided but he said that he means to say that only one party is fighting while the other is not. is the term 'single sided' correct in this reference? what would be the difference between single sided and one sided?

I see no difference meaning, but I would hyphenate either term.

If one side clearly completely outclassed the other, then I would say that it was a one-sided fight. 'Single-sided' means nothing to me.
