Single Complex Sentence

How are single complex sentences put together?? I have two sentences that I am being asked to create 1 complex sentence and I think I understand the basic concept, however the 2 sentences that I have to work with are making in difficult for me to understand and make sure I have the correct solution.

Assuming the two original sentences are simple sentences, each is also an independent clause. You must make one of them subordinate to the other. That is, the subordinate clause would no longer be able to stand alone as a sentence.

These are the 2 sentences that I have to work with:
1. The world does not much like curiosity.
2. The world says that curiosity killed the cat

** My solution:
Because the world says curiosity killed the cat, the world does not much like curiosity.

Would this be a correct solution?

Your solution is grammatical, but not logical. The causal relationship seems to be reversed.
You need to better explain the relationship between the two statements.

I guess you could simply reverse the order:
Because the world does not much like curiosity, the world says, "Curiosity killed the cat!"
