Singalur and plural
Hi all. I have written several sentences below and would appreciate it a lot if you could check if my usage is correct.
1) When is the earliest and the latest check-in time of the dormitory.
2) When are the earliest and the latest check-in times of the dormitory.
Actually, I don't know which one of the above is correct. I am inclined to think the second is though, because we are talking about two different times of checking in after all. Correct me if I am wrong...
3) For this report of the presentation, everybody should do the part corresponding to the part they did in the oral presentation.
4) All the students grabbed their schoolbags and ran out of the classroom.'
5) The family returned to their house.
6) The family returned to their houses. (Suggesting that different members of this family reside in different residences.
7) The neighbors return to their houses.
