'Since' usages

Look at the sentence below. I think this usage of 'since' is incorrect.
I have problem with articles used here. The reason 'since' bothers is because it relates to specific letter. One can send "a letter" several times; but one can only send "the letter" once unless, of course, the letter goes out daily, as a newsletter might. I believe If it meant newsletter, it would say newsletter.
Correct me if I am wrong. Thanks.

- Peter has posted the letter since yesterday but he says he is going to post it soon.

Your sentence does not make sense anyway. It should read: Peter hasn't posted the letter yet, but he says he is going to post it soon .

I am sorry. I was in a hurry. The sentence is:

- Peter hasn't posted the letter since yesterday but he says he is going to post it soon.

Now what? Would you tell me your opinion?

P.S: I cannot edit my original post. How can I do that?

Thanks.

It's past the time limit. I think you get a couple of minutes to edit, but not forever.

No. What you wrote was reasonable. I just added a small point to clarify it.
