Students have to join two sentences together using the word in bracket. I would like to know your opinions on the following.

Answer: Since misplacing his wallet a week ago, he has been feeling angry with himself or Since he misplaced/had misplaced his wallet a week ago, he has been feeling angry with himself.

Which is the correct answer? Are both accepted and what is the reason for not accepting?


She was angry. She did not speak to us for a week. (that)

Answer: She was so angry that she did not speak to us for a week. or She was angry that she did not speak to us for a week.
