since + past perefect

Hello All,"I started collecting stickers, since I was four years old"Can we use 'since' with 'simple past'?!I want to mention the period of time ( 4,5 years) that lasted in the past.Is the following correct?!"I had been collecting stickers for 5 years when/since I was four years old"

I want to say that for five years I collected stickers (from 4 years old until 9 years old) and Now I am 20.

You could say: I had been collecting stickers for five years when I was nine years old.

teechrI collected stickers for five years when I was four years old.

I guess those five years were exceptionally short.
