since or that is correct?
It was 10 years ago since/that he returned from Africa.

I'm not sure about it, but I always thought that if there is "since", there has to be present perfect tense ("it has been")... I would probably choose the other option..

Kocka MackaI'm not sure about it, but I always thought that if there is "since", there has to be present perfect tense ("it has been")... That's not so.

You can say 'It is 10 years since he returned from Africa.'
