Since or from ?

Sentence: "I love being a contrarian, have been one from/since the time I began trading and it has yielded me a good result, my contrarian instincts tell me he would prove guiltless in this"

My question: Which preposition, from or since, would be appropriate in the sentence ?

Thanks

Both work for me, but if I had to choose I'd go with "from". The second comma looks like a comma splice.

My instincts are a bit different from Mr Wordy's. I'm partial to since the time in those constructions, though I too accept either preposition.
