Grammar

Since

Dear teachers,

When I look up "since" in the longman dictionary,
I fould the grammar rules as follows:

"You use the present perfect before since.
You also use the past perfect before since."

However, I read an article in the newspaper as follows:

"Koreans are set to enjoy the most holidays since 2005, and by adding some personal vacation days ? annual leave that companies regularly give to employees ? vacations (checked in red below) it can be extended."

In the above sentence, how should "the Koreans are set to enjoy the most holidays since 2005" be changed? (There is a "since" in the sentence."

Sicnrely hope to know the answer.

Thanks and best regards,

David Kim

In the above sentence, how should "the Koreans are set to enjoy the most holidays since 2005" be changed? The use of "since" is correct and does not need changing. Something has gone wrong at the end of the sentence, but this is not related to "since".

I agree with GPY. Something like "they've had" is implied before "since" in that

Dear teechr,

I am so grateful for your help.
Then, could I say "Koreans are set to enjoy the most holidays they have had since 2005." as well?

Thanks and best regards,
