Since

Hello,

I was told by my teacher that it's incorrect to use "since" in past simple, and this is a common mistake: "I didn't see him since graduation".
How can I can paraphrase it to make it a correct sentence, then?

Thank you

Thank you. I know that "since" is common in present perfect. What I want to say is that in particular time in the past I didn't see someone since graduation. Then we met and are in touch again.

I hadn't seen him since graduation, but we bumped into each other at the supermarket about a year ago, and we've been hanging out ever since.

Hi Enoon,
but what exactly is wrong with "I didn't see him since graduation"? If you wanted to express this situation, how would you say it?
I didn't see him from after graduation?

I didn't see him again after graduation until Aunt Jane hired him to clean the koi pond.

I see, thank you. Is there any possibility of using "since" in past simple?

You are asking me to think of every possible English sentence using the simple past and "since" in any sense but "because". I have done that, and, no, it is not possible. I don't think.
