Simply

Dear friends,

I have a sentence below from book I've read.

You will surprised at how your thinking and language skills develop simply through continued study.

What the meaning of the word simply here, in this sentence?
I know from dictionary it can be really, without doubt, absolutely; but I still not sure about this meaning.

Thanks a lot for your help.

"Simply" is used to emphasize the fact that "continued study" alone is responsible for the development of your thinking and language skills.

Hi,
A further comment.

To my mind, 'simply' also implies,at least usually, that something is to some extent easy.

eg This sounds OK.

Thanks a lot Ivanhr, Laogui & Clive for your helpful answer.
For people learning English as foreign language, the trouble is with everyday vocabulary because it is still difficult to understand even if we looking for the meaning in dictionary.
It is different with formal vocabulary, it is more consistent in meaning.
Thanks a lot friends...
