Simplify?

Sire, I assure you that I am never vexed by boredom, but sooner by the hunger, caused I believe by the coldness of my stomach which does not get the full complement of sleep it requires.

Enkidu: what caused to what here? what I meant is that "she suffered by hunger because of her empty stomach" right?
