simple tense/present prefect tense.

I was not surprised the NBA should suspend Jerry Stakehose.

I was not surprised the NBA should have suspended Jerry Stakehouse.

Are they OK?

As a champion bad speller myself, I can emphathize, but I would astonished if they suspended Jerry Stakehouse, and only surprised if they suspended Jerry Stackhouse.
