Simple Sentence

It was a rainy day. So we had to cancel the match.
To make the above two sentences into simple sentence,
Should I say:
"It being a rainy day, we had to cancel the match."
Or
"Being a rainy day, we had to cancel the match."
Which one is grammatically correct?
Thanks.
