simple question/How states relate

Is this correct?

I wanted to understand how states relate among them

Top answer

I think you're trying to say: I want to understand how states relate with each other. The 'them' at the end is ambiguous. 'Wanted' implies that you now have the understanding.

I don't think there's enough information in the question to answer it confidently. "Relate among them" needs elaboration, a context. Can you provide more?

I made my bachelor degree in Political Science and International Relations because I want to understand how states relate among them and how thy manage this relations. While I was studing this subjects I realized that nowadays most of the international relations are regulated by international law.

'...because I want to understand the ways in which states (and nations?) relate to each other and how these relations are managed or regulated...'

Hi,

I wonder if you could correct this by saying how states relate among themselves?

Yet another alternative:

"I took my bachelor degree in Political Science and International Relations because I wanted to understand how states related to each other and how they managed those relationships. While I was studing this subject, I realized that international relations are nowadays mostly regulated by international law."
