Kindly help me with my English.

I paid a visit there yesterday to ensure I know exactly where the place is.
I paid a visit there yesterday to ensure I knew exactly where the place was.

Is first sentence correct or it should be second sentence?

I paid a visit there yesterday to ensure I would know exactly where the place was.

Is this okay, too?
By the way, do they all have the same meaning including my third sentence?
