Simple present and Present continuous..

I'm in a big trouble with simple present and present continuous. Could anyone please help me to solve this..

I want to know that , are we using simple present only with our daily routine works such as, "I wake up early in the morning everyday", "He takes his breakfast on time", "They go to school" etc..

And are we using present continuous only if we are continuing something such as, "I'm studying hard to pass my exam well." and "They are listening songs" etc..
