Simple Past. Timeline

Hi teachers,
Do you agree with the timeline, example, and note given?

Example:
Sharon phoned Robert three times, trying to invite him for dinner at around 8:00.

Note:
The present perfect is used when the action has occurred at definite points in time in the past.

Thanks in advance.

Thinking SpainIs it wrong to use '... at around 8:00, trying ...'. Why is that? What will you write there instead of that?
No, it's not wrong, I meant the note; for I don't believe the simple past has significance over the definitiness of time.
