Hi Anon Personally, I don't like either option very much. I'd choose option C for your stand-alone sentence: C. came; left However, I suppose either of your options could be justified in the right context and/or depending on how the speaker is looking at things.

If you said "Michael has come here to see you and he left a note on your desk", I would expect that
