Shouldn't it be When did we started since it's simple past tense?

When you form the Simple Past using the auxiliary verb 'did', it is followed by the bare infinitive (eg start).

Anyway, you need to know a variety of tenses, don't you? You can't just learn one or two tenses if you expect
