Simple or compound

Her name is Sachiko and she comes from Japan.

Is the sentence simple one or a compound? My first thought was 'compound' but when I saw the missing comma before the conjunction 'and', I got confused that it might be a simple one.

Thanks.

Ignore the fact that a sentence is not punctuated correctly when determining what kind of sentence it is.
