Simple grammer

Photo's for me, are memories digitally captured to share with others and to remind me of the privilege I had to visit so many different and wonderful places

Whats the use of Had in the sentence above when he/she is describing routine action.?

Hello :-) Here, "I had" refers to "privilege". I had the privilege to visit .... " The grammar is a little more complicated, but basically there was a "that" between "privilege" and "I had".

Here, "I had" refers to "privilege".
I had the privilege to visit ....

So, "had" means possession, as in "I had a nice car, but somebody stole it."

The grammar is a little more complicated, but basically there was a "that" between "privilege" and "I had". An example with the same rule:

Maldives is plural. Therefore it takes plural 's'. It makes no difference if it is a GROUP of islands, states, or amazon women living in the hills of Greece.

And because Maldives is a group of islands, it takes "The". "The" is also used for groups of states, territories, countries etc. Examples:

Because "had" is in the past. Don't try and think this sentence is too complicated, just think about the meaning :-) And look at "I had" (the privilege) "to visit ....". After privilege, we can use a verb, and this verb must have "to". (some people claim thi
