Simple future tense

A presidential candidate says, “I will be the next president.”

Of course it doesn’t mean at all that he is going to be the president even if he uses simple future tense with ‘will’. What kind of use of simple future tense is this? Here ‘will’ doesn’t mean ‘going to’. I would like to compare this with another example. A person says, “I will come to your party tomorrow.” it means he is going to be at the party tomorrow. Here will means ‘going to’.

If you really think we need to have a name for it (and I don't, by the way), you can call it a prediction.
