Sorry, but I cannot accept using a plural verb with a singular subject, just because there is a prep. phrase with a plural.

I had a feeling I would strike a nerve when I expressed that opinion. Still, I think each of us are capable of drawing our own conclusions after observing carefully what is accepted within the language community in which we find ourselves on any particular occasion.

"each of us are" does sound a bit clunky; on the other hand, I think "none of us are" sounds quite natural.
