Silos

The sentences:

It was easier to fund the growing of more corn than to create a system for feeding those who were hungry. Now we have silos of excess data rotting while millions hunger for the solutions to unforeseen problems.
-------

Why not "excess data in silos"? Or is it like saying "mountains of /tons of ***"?

Hi Taka, I agree with your thought. A 'silo' is a large thing, and putting it first in the phrase emphasizes that there is a lot of excess data. eg a truckload of problems Regards, Clive
