Silly Question

What(or which?) word is appropriate to describe 'Strong' coffee, and is the word 'Bold' appropriate for that? And which word is the most usable?

Thank you Clive! That's what I thought, but my son was absolutely sure that Bold is the right word. It was a big argument on the subject.

True, in ad-copy land. But if I visit you and I want to compliment you on your coffee, I wouldn't say 'Mmmm, this is bold'.

I'm not a coffee drinker, anyway. What does 'bold coffee' taste like?

Gracious! I'm getting quite an image of tea with a lovely nose!

I completely agree - if you are drinking my coffee, I'd be surprised to hear you say "What lovely bold coffee you're serving me!" But ad copy does form a part of our lives, so it doesn't sound odd to the ear, even if it sounds odd at the dining room table.
