Sign up for sth

I started a new job recently and I am hating every second of it because I am constantly being assigned with tasks my employer didn't inform me about in the job interview. Taking down minutes is one of them. In this case, can I say "I didn't sign up for this" meaning I didn't agree to do what I'm doing?

Also, is there any mistake in the above description? Emotion: smile

Thank you for your help.
