siences

What are differences between: "exact subjects", "exact siences", "hard siences" and "sciences" this last in meaning: systematic knowledge of the physical or material world gained through observation and experimentation?

Hi Some may dispute this but, usually, the sciences that are called 'hard' or 'exact' are: mathematics, logic, chemistry, physics and biology. That's because the propositions that they come up with can be tested straightforwardly by logic or by experiment By way of contrast, the 'soft sciences' are psychology, sociology, politics, economics and so on. Those are good areas for study, but it is much more difficult to prove something by logic or experiment Dave
