Some guy said that in the past he performed on stage, but he had to quit.
Stage fright. I was sick for hours before every performance. I lost so much weight and went through so many costumes I finally had to give it up.
Does by "sick" he mean that he vomitted?
Does by "went through so many costumes" he mean that all costumes were slipping off him cause he was too thin?

Hello Sick does not necessarily mean that he vomited although it can do. It just means that he was not well, it can be physical or mental. to go though costume s in the above context means that used up a lot of costumes.

Sick does not necessarily mean that he vomited although it can do. It just means that he was not well, it can be physical or mental.
to go though costumes in the above context means that used up a lot of costumes. Because he was losing weight he had to have new costumes all the time.
