That's from a newspaper report. My question is: what's wrong with the spelling of emergently?

"emergently" is a very rare word which seems to mean "in an emergent manner". In this quote it is apparently misused to mean some blend of "urgently" and "in an emergency" (That's assuming it's not deliberate word play.)
