Shrink

can 'vast' be the opposite of 'shirnk'

for eg. If I want to say it as :

The world may indeed have shrunk due to technology but for me it will remain vast as we are not able to meet/see our far away friends as often as we think of them.

Is the above gramatically right , which other word can be used in place of 'vast'?

Fundamentally, an adjective cannot be the antonym of a verb. Antonyms and synonyms must be the same part of speech. Your sentence, however, is fine, although it is missing a couple of commas and a hyphen.
