Shows the temptation

It's about a test for kids. The speaker says the following, but when she says "shows the temptation" it just like a word is missing (it's not) for me to understand this line better, any help please?

If you don't eat this marshmallow until I'm back, I'll give you a second marshmallow and they'll both be yours. However, if you eat the marshmallow before I'm back - I'll not give you a second one. So a hidden camera in the room shows the temptation in this kid's face...

The expression on the kid's face shows how the kid is tempted to eat the marshmallow. (It shows how much he wants to eat the marshmallow.)
