Showed up / shown up

Which is correct?

If he had shown up, we would have had a full house.

If he had showed up, we would have had a full house.

You are incorrect.

The past perfect of "show" is "shown." Show, showed, shown. They will show up. They showed up yesterday. They had already shown up.

Showed and shown can't both be used correctly in that sentence.

It would be "If he had shown up, we would have had a full house".

I disagree.

In the two sentences, the correct use is "shown" imo. The second sentence should have the "had" removed before the word "showed".

If he showed up....not "if he had showed up"

The second sentence is incorrect in its current form I believe.

Just my .02 though....

Did you check the link fivejedjon provided? "Had showed" is an acceptable alternative.
