Hi, Where I live, you need 'please' with all of these. When addressing a stranger, eg on the street, we also often begin by saying 'Excuse me'. Would you show me the way /direction to Taipei train station?

When addressing a stranger, eg on the street, we also often begin by saying 'Excuse me'.

Would you show me the way/direction to Taipei train station? Not quite so common, as it sounds a bit like I want the person to accompany me to the station.

'Can' is more polite than 'would'.
