His father showed me all over his house, from the bedroom to the basement.

If 'all over his house' were omitted as:

His father showed me from the bedroom to the basement.

would it still sound natural?

Taka His father showed me from the bedroom to the basement. It sounds natural to my 74-year-old native ear. I'd say that the prepositional phrase "from x to y" is object of the verb.

Hi,
His father showed me from the bedroom to the basement.

This sounds to me like a very old-fashioned way of saying
His father conducted me / led me from the bedroom to the basement.

Hi, Clive.
Do you find the OP's original similarly dated?
TakaHis father showed me all over his house, from the bedroom to the basement.
Thanks,

Hi,

No, because 'show someone over a house' is a pretty standard phrase.

Such omission would suddenly make the original sound old-fashioned. Hmm...

Oh, by the way, Avangi, for some reason, or maybe because of the French passage you've put below your profile, I didn't think for a long time you were a native speaker of English, and I don't know why but I thought you were much younger!
