Should we use persent continous ?

Hi everybody.

I'd like to ask about whether I can use present continuous for this sentence?

Every few years, someone in my family is going to die!

If not? which tense is more appropriate and why?

Thank u in advance.

Hi, It's fine. The continuous tense stresses the ongoing nature of the process. Best wishes, Clive

Hi Yadoo

Of course, you can use the present continuous tense, but you can leave it as it is shown, I mean, with the intentional future structure. Thus, you point out your statement is based on strong proofs, and that this year episode hasn't happened yet but will do sooner or later during this year.
