Should students attend in full-time education until the age of 18 years old? To what extent do you agree or disagree?

In modern days, education has been receiving a great deal of media attention in terms of full-time studying until the age of 18 years old. Although, I recognize the benefits of this full-time studying, I would argue that it is not the best choice for all students to select.

On the one hand, a full-time studying could potentially bring several implications. Firstly, it is an indisputable fact that education helps people sharpen their skills and broaden their knowledge, and therefore they are able to land a job and earn a well-paid salary in the foreseeable future. This improves the rate of economic growth of the whole country, and in turn not only raise people’s living standard and but also promote people’s welfare. Secondly, a full-time studying until the maturity age is likely to require people’s full attention and concentration on learning, which actually helps people to acquire and reinforce their knowledge effectively and intensively, compared with part-time studying.

On the other hand, it seems to me that studying for a full time course till the age of maturity is not the best option for every children to choose. One main argument is that students always come from very different socio-economic backgrounds, which forces them to weigh up before making any financial decision like paying the tuition fee of a full-time studying course. In this way, impoverished students are highly likely to stick with part-time studying in order to have time to earn money from working. Furthermore, when spending most of the time of the first eighteen years of life merely on studying, people tend to be passive and not sufficiently prepared to deal with the world outside schools. This is due to the fact that students have not enough chances to apply what they learn into practices.

In conclusion, although being able to attend in full-time education until the age of 18 years old is beneficial in many ways, I believe this is not desirable for all students to adopt. It is pivotal for them to weigh up and figure out the own best approach to acquire knowledge.
