"should" in "that" section

The difference between "It's natural that he should like her." and "It's natural that he likes her." is only that the former one indicates a possibility/a risk he doesn't like her and that the latter one indicates he usually likes her??

This is an example of "evaluative should". I agree that there is some expectation involved.
