Should I use singular or plural in this:

Hello guys, I would really appreciate your help on the following matter. Should I use the singular form of the verb in the following sentence or the plural?

Another option [IS / ARE] promotional coupons.

I am thinking I should use "is" because for me it is referring to "another option", but I could be wrong...

I know this can be restructured into - Promotional coupons are another option. But what if the sentence really comes in the above form, which is the correct verb to use and why?

Thanks in advance for any help you can give ^_^

You are correct; it should be "is." The subject of the sentence is option, and since that word is singular, the predicate (verb) also has to be singular (is).

The verb agrees with the subject. The subject is the first element in these sentences.
