If I am talking about a past time but this situation is still valid today, should I use present tense or past tense? I give an example.
Example:
A year ago I was attracted by a girl who worked in a grocery store nearby and she was extremely nice and friendly.
OK, now the girl is still working in the store and she is still nice and friendly, however, I'm talking about the timeline when I was first attracted by her.
In the above example, should I use worked or works? is or was?

worked; was
It was a year ago.
Saying that she worked there at that time and that she was nice at that time does not contradict anything about how she is now. By saying 'worked' and 'was', you are not saying 'doesn't work now' or 'isn't now'.
