Should I use "of" befor Gerund or shouldn't? and why?
What's the difference?

"The words containing the suffix are ....."

or

That is not a gerund, it is a participle, so use this: 'The words containing the suffix are...'

However, in a sentence with a gerund, you may need a preposition: 'The methods of containing the disease are...'
