Should I say ‘story ending,’ ‘story’s ending,’ or ‘ending of the story’?

Should I say ‘story ending,’ ‘story’s ending,’ or ‘ending of the story’? I think the last one sounds natural. Is my thinking correct?

Why is the (story ending / story’s ending / ending of the story) like that?
