Should I really enclose ‘yes’ in quotation marks in the given sentence?

Should I really enclose ‘yes’ in quotation marks in the following sentence?

If I asked you to go out, would you say, “Yes”?

If I really should enclose ‘yes’ in quotation marks, then, which of the following sentences is the most properly punctuated?
1. If I asked you to go out, would you say, “Yes”?
