Should I omit the phrase ‘while we are in the process of learning’ in the following sentence?

Should I omit the phrase ‘while we are in the process of learning’ in the following sentence? I think I really should. Is my thinking correct?

What is more essential than our success in our future careers are the lessons we have learned from our failures while we are in the process of learning, lessons that we can apply in our lives.
